Hi, my name's Dr Warrick Bishop and I'm a cardiologist. Today, I'd like to talk a little bit about cholesterol, particle size.

People come and ask me about it all the time and talk about small, dense and large fluffy particles. The idea being that when we think about the pores within the arteries that may allow LDL or cholesterol particles in that the smaller the particle, the more likely they'll pass through those holes. So how do we get small dense vs light, fluffy particles? Well, if you can get your triglyceride levels down, which is a reflection of the insulin levels in the body, then you tend to produce larger fluffier particles and these are preferential so get your triglyceride level down under about 1.5 millimole per litre and you'll have predominantly large fluffy particles.

I've done a podcast on this if you're interested. Click the link below and find out a little more. I wish you the very best and till next time. Keep your light and Fluffy's up, and please don't die from a heart attack. Goodbye.
