Hi, my name's Dr. Warrick Bishop and welcome to my Healthy Heart Minute. Today, I'm going to talk about Triglycerides.
Sometimes we joke about the lipid profile, the cholesterol and the fatty bloodstream, and we call them "The Good", "The Bad", and "The Ugly". The good, the HDL cholesterol, the High Density Lipoprotein. The bad are the LDL cholesterol, the ones that we really try and lower if someone's had a heart attack. And the ugly are the triglycerides. While the triglycerides are really, really important.
I have a podcast where I've been able to speak with Dr. Karam Kostner, an Australian and international expert in cholesterol management. We talked about triglycerides. They are linked to obesity, diabetes, alcohol consumption, lack of exercise, and high levels of insulin. They are not your friend. So, we talked about those triglycerides in quite a bit of detail.
Please check out the podcast. I'm pretty sure you'll find it interesting. Until next time. I wish you the very best. Please live as well as possible, for as long as possible. Take care and bye for now.
